Tonight I was drivin’ down the freeway (or bypass, actually) and I had this Little Tykes playhouse in the back of my truck… I only had to go from one exit to the next. I had a bungee cord around the back of it and the tail-gate was shut. I was drivin’ down the freeway, keepin’ my eye in the rear-view when the little house flies up in the air like Dorothy’s house on Wizard of Oz. It flew up and out and landed in the middle of the fast lane. OMG! When I looked in the rear-view all I could do make the sound of thinking “OMG”
and had flashbacks of a tornado takin’ away the house (like on Oz) even tho there was not a tornado. Thankfully traffic was light and there wasn’t any cars directly behind me when it decided to take a flight! I get over on the side on the freeway (half in the grass/half on shoulder) and reverse the truck down the road. I tell the husband to get out and run across to pick it up, quick! It was only two lanes on the bypass. He stood there waitin’ for a break in traffic so he could jet across. Tennessee folks are really nice! Two cars stopped – both people wanted to help him get this house out of the middle of the fast lane. One fella helped him carry it across, they got the house out of the road before someone crushed it. Whew! Cars were havin’ to stop and go around but it coulda been much worse! Only thing that happened to it was one of the shudders came off – but we were able to put it back on. The house is undamaged and nothing bad happened!
He and I took four bungees and the come-along type strap that we had in the back and secured the house for the rest of the trip. Don’t ask why we didn’t before… I just never suspected it to fly off.
It’s nice here right now at 89 and sunny. Today… nothing to exciting. That’s always subject to change. My transmisson was put back in
and I picked up my truck, yesterday. We’re happy about that. I have some housework to do… isn’t that lovely? I’ve slacked this week as I haven’t felt to spunky; therefore, I summons myself to do it today. This evening I just plan to spend some time w/ my man & enjoy outdoor time w/ the kids.
Till next time. ~Out
