New Goodies

Wednesday, August 13th, 2008

As electronic documents take over the world, it seems as though we should have significantly less paper to organize, collate, and file. Yet, many of us (ahem, me) are still buried under piles of paper. Even as we embrace our lives as tech-savvy folks, we still churn an enormous amount of paper while organizing. Well, I know I do. I dread all the papers the kids bring home now that school is back in session!

Simply Chic Eye CandyMy desk space is now in style now, thanks to Carolina Pad and Paper. I rec’d a box packed full of goodies from them. Don’t you love getting packages in the mail?? I do!!!

I hope it helps me stay more organized. I’m loving that it all matches AND it’s cheerful and colorful.

Everything is from Simply Chic & Eye Candy, by Jacqueline McFee and recently launched (exclusively at Wal-Mart). Super cute items.

I wanted to let you know there is a contest for you. What I rec’d was just a “sampling”… can you imagine winning an entire office makeover?

Carolina Pad and Paper is hosting a “Glam Your Office Makeover Contest“. To enter, submit your best organizational tip at CarolinaPad. Grab details here.

Enjoy Hasbro games?

Monday, August 11th, 2008

I posted this for a short bit the other day but it was meant to be a draft as it wasn’t complete -so if you read this twice, oops! I’m not perfect, we all know that LOL. Look below to have a chance to win a newly released Noodleboro game by Hasbro.

I do. I’m not sure how many of you enjoy playing games (board games, etc) or how many of you have children but I am sure most everyone loves Hasbro games. Some of my favorites include the popular Scrabble, Battleship, Trouble, and Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader. My children love the games, too. We try to make an effort to include “game time” in our family time as often as we can. Even my cat likes Hasbro games (LOL). Remember, Nixie attempted to eat Col. Mustard (previous PhotoHunt photo)??

Anyway, Hasbro wanted to provide new, playful and effective learning games. They just released Noodleboro games. Games that nurture skills naturally through multi-sensory play. I’m happy to say I was selected to check out one of the three new games. Each game is specific to a skill: listening, manners, and sharing. Each game also comes with a storybook and an audio CD. I received The Pizza Palace game (for listening). Now, I what to share with you all my thoughts on it!

NoodleboroFirst impression and overall impression is A+. The game peeked a lot of interest. Children make pizzas according to instruction. This enforces the listening (and memory) skills. The game came with cute little pizzas complete with pizza boxes. Ages 4+ and 2-3 players, it’s sure to be a hit with the young ones and parents, too! It seems more of a memory game vs. listening but you certainly must listen to play and remember… Each pizza maker listen to what they are to top the pizza with and then they top it. We started with 3 toppings, to make it easy for my 6 year old, and increased up to 8. My hubby and 10 year old played… they discovered it isn’t always easy to remember what 8 toppings I requested! My 6 year old did amazingly well! Everyone enjoyed it. The kids want to play again and again to see who can remember the most! So, just because the game is marketed for 4+ it’s good for many ages, in my opinion.

The storybook and CD were a great addition to the game. There are a few catchy tunes on there (lyrics in the book) and the CD will read the book for you while you follow along. I think these games would be a great addition to any Hasbro collection and would make excellent gifts! If you have young ones, I suggest checkin’ them out… =)

Upgrading WP

Friday, December 7th, 2007

Has anyone upgraded to the 2.3.1, yet? Surely I am not the only one who hasn’t. I must say this is the ONLY thing I do not like about using WP as my platform. They are *always* finding some issue and making new upgrades. They have had TWO within the past 73 days. Ugh. Pikers. Ok, not much of a rant - but anyway.

Off to find a snack. See ya’ll for the weekend PhotoHunt. Long, hmm - I always wonder what you folks will come up with. Ha.

Oh! –> This fella, Neil is giving away *his* Canon IXY Digital 1000 10 MP camera! His meaning his camera not a new one. I’m not willin’ to pay for a chance but hey - you get a free chance to win it if you tell others- so, I’m tellin’ ya! =)
