Hello. Thanks for the well wishes. I am feeling OK but am very, very sore. it hurts to yawn, smile, laugh…. and not very easy to eat. I will go back in about 2 weeks. Fun stuff (not!).

Just a note to all past, present, and future Photo Hunters. I am posting early because I am holding a “meeting” (aka this post). The Photo Hunt started almost one whole year ago, on March 21 and I just want to touch on a few topics.

Please folks, double check things for yourself before emailing me, if possible. I’d really appreciate it. Here is why… over the past year I’ve had an overwhelming amount of emails regarding the following:

  • Valid complaints over lack of comments. I am so sorry I can no longer visit you all (almost 300 people now!) and I am sorry I can’t force others to visit. I can only hope everyone will try to visit different folks each week.
  • Valid complaints that people play but use photos from the web and not original photos from their own personal collection (a photo they took). The PhotoHunt is intended for YOUR photos - not photos you find across the web. Please - take note and follow the rules - it keeps me happy and it keeps others from leaving complaints. I’d *so* appreciate it.
  • Asking why they were removed from the blogroll - but they weren’t even removed.
  • Asking to be added but failed to follow instructions on what to do to be added.
  • Asking to be added but failed to leave their URL.
  • Removed for not playing, request to be re-added and then not play, still.
  • Email me 3 times in the last 23 hours because they want to be added and want me to check their site.

    • It isn’t a problem that you require assistance - it’s just bothersome when I take out time to do something that isn’t needed. The above are the main issues I see/read on a regular basis.

    Feel free to email ANY time you need help or need something - just please - make sure you double check things first. You all have the right to send complaints or praise at any time… I just want you all to know how time consuming this can be when people don’t read or don’t follow instructions. I like to help and don’t mind, at all - just be patient and be appreciative of my time. As a fun test to see how many actually read this post-type the word “Gotcha” in my comments when you comment. =)

    I try my best to keep this great for all - I haven’t had to play ‘PhotoHunt Police’ (to tell folks they aren’t following the rules) and I really don’t want to. So, since the year anniversary is approaching do me a favor:

  • Make sure you have the link/blogroll up on your sidebar
  • Play at least twice a month
  • Post YOUR OWN photos
  • Keep up the great work

    • If you don’t follow the above “rules” you may be subject to removal during my blogroll cleaning.

    Last but certainly not least, know that this is The Original Photo Hunt - yes folks, we have imposter’s. Someone totally copied this PhotoHunt (in January, I think) when they were FULLY aware of this Photo Hunt and could not even give it an original name. How lame to totally copy me… so know this is the place to be, the Original Photo Hunters ROCK!

      I don’t believe I’ve ever had a Dr Pepper but perhaps it goes by a different name here.

      Aaaaaah, Dr Pepper! I love love LOVE it - but I haven´t had one for ages. I guess being 2.5 days without Dr. Peppers is for you like being 2.5 days without coffee =)

      Well, actually I am, because I´m not allowed to drink coffee while my CD flare-up… so my Hunt is not about caffeine, but Caipirinha (which I can´t have either *LOL*) and Cyber Cruise.

      Totally “Gotcha” - I promise never to have photos from the web posted on my posts. I do have to protect them though with my ’signature’ now, because I have found some of my pictures on other websites - not photo hunters though…

      I knew you would post a Dr. Pepper for today’s theme, but I was expecting an entire case :grin:

      I am glad that you have your dental work behind you. The appointment in 2 weeks is just a follow-up, right?

      I do have a suggestion about the lack of comments though.. a lot of people use “mr.linky” and then want you to add a comment. Entering the same information in both for each site is a pain. I wish people would stop using ‘mr.linky’ if they have the ability to get comments. Also, those who only allow Blogger users to comment, I can’t comment because I don’t have or want to get a Blogger account, so at least allow other users to comment.

      I LOVE DR. PEPPER!! We are lucky and can get Dublin Dr. Pepper here. It’s even better than what you are holding and it’s hard to top a Dr. Pepper. :)

      Maybe it’s just me but it seems that the taste of Dr. Pepper has changed since I was a kid. It used to have more of a ‘kick’ to it but that was back in the early 60’s and it could just be that I have a faulty memory!

      As for Mr. Linky, I like it because it’s easier to link back to other posts using it but that’s just me and is a personal preference. I can’t complain, I’ve gotten a lot of good comments every week that I’ve been doing this but I can tell people one thing - you’ve got to leave comments to get comments!

      I used to be a Dr. Pepper addict. But when I had to go all decaf, the decaf version of it just didn’t taste as well to me, so I switched to decaf Pepsi after trying it at a church fellowship. I know what you mean about craving it when you can’t have it!

      Oh, and, gotcha. :) Thanks again for hosting this. I enjoy it so much. I can’t fathom somebody just copying this — I haven’t seen the copycat list, but what’s sad is that many of the people who join that list won’t realize it’s a ripoff.

      Oh, and just another comment here about commenting — if people go and comment on other people’s photos, they usually come back to comment on yours. Photo hunters are some of the best about this. Posting early also helps — I usually visit around on Fri. night and Sat. morning, then I have a ton of other things to get done and don’t always get back to visit anyone who posted their pictures later.

      And though I said it before, I’ll repeat it: gotcha!

      I used to survive at 7-11 with a Snickers bar and Dr. Pepper… still like them both! But we have Weigels here…

      GOTCHA! I will say this… I do “try” to visit “some” different sites each week — but I do also make sure to visit the friends I’m in contact with daily. BUT… although I’ve never written you to “complain” about folks who use Web photos — I DO NOT leave comments when I come across one. That’s just my personal policy. If they don’t follow the rules, I don’t leave a comment! And I have quit visiting a few sites that seem NEVER to play…

      As for your addiction… well… I’m a Pepper too!!! (but I drink the diet stuff… and only occasionally!) I DO hope you feel better soon — and I’m sure in a day or two you’ll be able to enjoy a nice COLD ONE!

      I love what you do each week and I appreciate the amount of work it takes to do it. While I may disagree with you on things like Diet Dr. Pepper versus regular…I have enjoyed every week I’ve participated and that is why I’ve promoted what you are doing in my weekly column in the Toledo Free Press.       I love Dr. P - and now I am thinking of the old commercial with the guy in the white pants.
      He starred in an American Werewolf in London.
      And my boyfreind when I was 19 years old - he lived near a plant that canned Dr. P - the whole place smelled of plums/prunes.

      I’ve never heard of Dr Pepper but nevertheless it’s a great photo!! :)

      About the photohunt: I love it! And I am so glad I found your site. Last week I wasn’t able to visit and comment so much sites because of my job. But mostly I try to visit as most Photohunters as I can.

      For me the week’s theme takes some creativity and ingenuity to think of (it stays a cat site), but on the other side, when I visit the other sites, I see, enjoy and learn so much of their entries — and that’s what counts for me.

      I didn’t have a picture of Dr. Pepper, but I wrote about it. Trying to cut down. It is my all time favorite of the world… very good in an ice cream soda too…. and does wonders for an upset stomach.

      Thanks for posting the rules. I admire you for taking this on - running meme’s are not easy. Just know that there will always be those that break the rules and need help and of course those that will never be happy, no matter how you bend over backwards.

      There are plenty of people out there that APPRECIATE your efforts and have a blast doing this every week. You have my heart-felt thanks.

      I’m not a big soda drinker. Thank God. I used to drink Diet Coke like crazy, but then I developed some kidney stones, thought I was going to die (Okay, so I’m a bit dramatic *grin*) and when I learned it was most probably from not drinking enough water, haven’t gone back to soda since. It’s a pretty can, though. lol And yes, I do believe I see your hand shaking. *grin*

As for the comments, when I use the blog roll, I find that a lot of people don’t post so I tend to comment only on the people who comment here on TN chick. That way I know that someone is actually playing for the given week. Maybe you could encourage those who want more visits to comment on your week’s post? Just a suggestion:)

      I hope things get back to normal soon for you. I had oral surgery done about 12 years ago and I do remember going without lots of things and the uncomfortable feelings. Wishing you well soon!

      Hi. Hope you’re better soon, dental stuff is never fun. I remember all too well when I was “addicted” to Coke Classic. Still love the stuff, but rarely drink it now.

      Having surfed a lot of the links, I found that several of them haven’t even posted anything for months! With 300 on the blog roll it must be a challenge to get to them and see who is no longer posting to their old, inactive blogs. Hopefully you’ll find them soon and remove them.       Nothing wrong with that picture. I like Dr Pepper too although I had a bad Diet Pepper before and will not touch the stuff again.

      I could never get into Dr. Pepper. I think it may be a southern thing. We don’t have it too much in CT - and we certainly don’t have it here in Malaysia. I like the idea that it’s kind of spicy, though… I love cinnamon gum, so it seems like a natural choice for me ;)
