    Man, I want to get me some fries and to heck with diet. I love fries. I just have to run longer and farther next time I am on treadmill.

    McDonald’s almost always has the best fries because they *are* salty! I’d rather eat something salty than something sweet!

    I was never too fond of McDonald’s fries. They were either dried up or too salty.

    LOL - I can count on my fingers the number of times I’ve been there since moving to Canada and Switzerland… Too funny…

    Did you know that each McDonalds can be regional and serve different foods. For instance in Quebec they might have Poutine and in Switzerland they might have some rib beef sandwich… I just like seeing the menus in those countries…

    I just had some Mc Fries for the first time in a year. They weren’t as delicious as I had remembered, but the cheeseburger….oh yum! I really try to limit myself. I would cut it out altogether, but once in a while it really hits the spot!

    Can’t remember the last time I ate at McDonalds but they are very liberal with the salt shaker.

    I discovered that the fries from Chic-fil-A, those waffle things are the best.. don’t get fries too much. Until finding these, I always thought that Mickey D’s were the best… probably because they are so bad for you.

    When my brother (now 45) was a year old, he loved the fries there so much that everytime we passed a golden arches he would point and start yelling… “Whee, whee, whee, whee.” Of course way back then there were no such things as drive throughs, just drive-up, park and stand outside at a window to get the order; no eat in seats then.

    Anxious to see all the different posts.

    I like french fries! My son loves McDonald’s french fries as much as the toy he gets from his Happy Meal.

    When I was 13 I grew about 8 inches over the course of a year and a half. I also wanted to eat nothing but McDonald’s fries…so, logically speaking, they make people grow! :)

    That’s a great idea. I love McDonald fries, but they are too salty. I had a hard time coming up with something and had to go to my husband for help on a salty idea.

    I try not to eat McDonalds, but those look mighty tasty! And I love them with a lot of salt!

    Continuing on expatraveler’s train of thought above, my husband and I always use the price of McDonalds to figure a country’s currency value relative to other food cost in that country. For example, here in Malaysia a Big Mac value meal will run you about RM10 (US$2.50) - a good value.

    Yummy! You’re right, sometimes they go a little too heavy on the salt. I had the same thought but decided on somthing else salty instead.

    Sometimes they do come out very salty. Excellent choice for this week’s theme of salty :)…I haven’t had any fries from Macy D’s for almost 2 years though…

    Heh… not a flattering ad for McDonalds ;) But the quality varies a lot when it comes to the saltiness of the fries - sometimes there’s almost no salt at all!

    Yep, McDonalds fries are definitely salty! I can’t remember the last time I ate at McDonalds. It’s been a long time!

    I love McDonalds fries! Yum. They don’t always love me though …

    I have a photo hunter photo up on Tricia’s Musings but we had trouble figuring out something for As the Garden grows and Odd planet this week. We may still think of something for those sites though.

    A perfect take on salty. It doesn’t get much more salty than this :)

    I’m not a big fan of McDonald’s. The fries always leave a bad taste in my mouth. I used to love their shakes when I was a teenager, but not any more.

    WOW…got idea. I never thought of that one. Great shot. Try an experiment. Leave some fast food french fries out and see what happens to them over time…NOTHING! Hmmmmmmm wonder what they are made of.

    A very yummy take on salty! reminds me of when I was a kid and I couldn’t pass by a McDonalds without asking to go in. Now, Little Princess does that to me. *grin*

    That is my favorite salty treat. My husband and I disagree over who has the best fries but I think it is Micky D’s hands down.

    I totally agree - those fries look really salty, but what is worse, is they are greasy too - yuck!

    you need to order them with now salt. they are always cooked fresh when you do that because they salt them when they are cooked. that would be the answer i think

    I have to agree with Waspgoddess - I’m not a big fan of McDonald’s either. Especially after watching that Biggie Size me movie.

    However, I DO like their fish sandwiches. :-)

    McDonalds fries are one of my all time favorites. If I had to pick something for my “last meal” they would be a part of it. I’ve read all the other comments that say they don’t like them, and I’m surprised. They are a major comfort food for me. I don’t eat them often because they go straight to my behind, but I love them just the same. And they are definitely SALTY! My SALTY photo’s are up!

    Don’t know where I heard this but it’s a great tip for the perfect McD fries. When you order, ask for your fries unsalted. They’ll have to make a new batch. As soon as you get them, sprinkle on some salt from one of those little packets. You’ll get fresh fries, perfectly salted every time. Great choice for the theme, BTW. Thanks for hosting!

    Mmmm I love salty chips - be they bad for you or not. I miss having a MacDonalds handy in town - there’s one out on the roundabout near Morrison’s but it’s about a 20 minute walk there from Penzance town centre. Anyway, my non-salty entry is up too.

    Wowsers I can *see* the salt crystals on those - I love ‘em when they’re like that, lol. I had Hardee’s brand tonight (straight, not curly) but they were nowhere near as salty.
    At least we can both be happy that our antibiotics have kicked in enough to allow us to even EAT french fries. :)
