Photo Hunt 42: Silver

Theme: Silver | Become a Photo Hunter | View Blogroll
Site of the day: Melange. Please, go say hello!
There are silver things in this photo, over the little windows. In a nearby super tiny town - this old state bank still stands.
Welcome to: Tricia, Claire, Colleen, Vicki, Letha, Margaret. I think that’s it. Not as many this week… I hope I didn’t leave anyone out. A few requested to be added but failed to leave a URL… I’ll add you folks when I hear back from you.
Side note, I’ve been blogroll cleaning (slowly). I have 16 more letters to go thru. Eek. I hope to finish the cleaning soon. If you run across any inactive sites, please let me know. Thanks.

Wow! That is so awesome! I just love rustic things and I love the country. I hate living in the big cities. I guess I’m just a country girl at heart.

Sounds like the wild west, “gun shop” ! Exciting, I think of all these old movies where the Cowboys were shooting themselves, collapsed and 5 min later they were alive again, lol !
January 26th, 2007 at 10:54 pm

I’m up!
January 26th, 2007 at 11:40 pm
Wow! I am so honored to be site of the day! I’ve been going around already and there are some gorgeous pictures out there this week (as always).
This little building is adorable and such history… funny how it was a bank and now a gun shop? Banks and guns don’t usually go together!
January 26th, 2007 at 11:56 pm
And at one time it held silver, too. Great old building.
January 27th, 2007 at 12:08 am
Wow, that’s a bank? I have never seen anything like that! So cool!
January 27th, 2007 at 12:10 am
That is a neat old building. I’m glad to see older building still standing.
January 27th, 2007 at 12:21 am
You have such cool stuff in your neighborhood you can take photos of…wonder why their build it out of that material.
Blessings on you weekend and always…
January 27th, 2007 at 1:38 am
How funny that things have changed all around that tiny little building and yet it still stands!
My silver is up, too! Please stop by for a visit.
January 27th, 2007 at 1:43 am
Wow, I realize that it still stands, but is it still in operation? Because that would definitely be the best thing.
Great shot. I love it.
(are you using some kind of plugin for going back to flickr for your images? just curious)
January 27th, 2007 at 2:01 am
Great pick for the theme. You’re always so creative. I thought this week was a tough one.

Oh I love it - what a great place!!!
January 27th, 2007 at 3:52 am
I guess the frost on my window can be considered to be silver. It sparkles like silver in the right light and like silver, can be spectacular.

What a very cool old building.
Great photo.
My silver photo is up.
January 27th, 2007 at 4:28 am
Wow that’s a tiny bank! How old is it?
It reminds me of photos I took of the smallest Jailhouse in North America in Tweed, Ontario - http://feverishthoughts.com/2006/07/19/smallest-jailhouse/
Our photos are up on Odd Planet, As the garden grows and Tricia’s Musings. There are some interesting silver pics for you!
January 27th, 2007 at 4:35 am
Good photo. I was busy all week and I didn’t find enough time to look for silver items in the house but as I visit each blog, I am amazed at how each one was able to take time to search an item or items.
Am enjoying this photo hunting. Thanks for hosting it.
January 27th, 2007 at 4:45 am
Very nice. We actually have some of those here in the provinces. The silver on the windows are to deflect the heat of the sun I think.
Mine’s up! finally got DSL at home so I can participate every single week once more.
January 27th, 2007 at 4:58 am
Mine’s kinda ‘antiquish’ like yours……but I like YOUR silver theme better. hehehehehe
Happy weekend.

January 27th, 2007 at 6:05 am
That is some rickety building
Happy cleaning with the blogroll - even though I know it’s not a fun job. Thanks for doing it, anyway!
January 27th, 2007 at 6:26 am
Mine is up, too, and it is a different slant on “silver”, as well. What an interesting old building.
January 27th, 2007 at 6:29 am
Cool picture of an old building. My “silver” things are up too.
January 27th, 2007 at 7:13 am

January 27th, 2007 at 7:35 am
Veryyyyy cool! My goodness… I’m so boring this week, I simply should not have played! I feel bad making people come visit….
January 27th, 2007 at 7:54 am
‘nother one that hasn’t participated in Photo hunt since October 2006 –Heaven’s on Fire
January 27th, 2007 at 7:57 am
I had a tough time with this one so opted to use another close-up angle shot my husband took.
LOVE these old buildings. It reminds me of something you would see in Silver Dollar City.
January 27th, 2007 at 8:00 am
Love those old buildings. So much history- if those walls could talk, huh?
Thanks for visiting. My new one is up now.
January 27th, 2007 at 8:10 am
It reminds me of my husband’s hometown. There are only a couple of businesses there now but many of the buildings still stand. They’ve recently taken to painting murals of the Old West on the walls. But I’m rambling… Mine’s up with a personal confession.
January 27th, 2007 at 8:15 am
Oh, that bank is super cute and how funny that it has the gun shop sign in the window!
I played too
January 27th, 2007 at 8:18 am

Oh yes, and your new kitty is absolutely adorable!

Wow, what a great photo. Looks like quite a historic place.
January 27th, 2007 at 8:57 am
Because I was brain dead this morning (like most mornings) I posted the wrong link to my picture. The correct one for Silver is http://zumfamily.blogspot.com/2007/01/photo-scavenger-hunt_26.html. Thanks Becky for the heads up:)
January 27th, 2007 at 9:10 am
What a quaint little building this is.
Mine is posted. Happy Saturday to everyone.
January 27th, 2007 at 9:58 am
Sorry I’ve been so sporadic in playing lately… I’ve been that way about blogging in general I guess… I’m up today though, so that’s something.
A bank & a gun shop, eh? So you could walk in, buy a gun, and then rob the place with it?
January 27th, 2007 at 10:06 am
I love when little towns let historic buildings stand. It is so rare and wonderful! Great pic!
My hunt is up!
January 27th, 2007 at 10:15 am

January 27th, 2007 at 3:42 pm
Cute picture, but it can’t be that tiny if they used to have a bank! I assume that the bank building stands, but the bank is no more? What with the gun shop store sign.
January 27th, 2007 at 3:54 pm
That’s a neat old building!
I’m still in wedding bliss, so I showed off my new husbands ring that’s silver and gold.
January 27th, 2007 at 4:28 pm
Wonderful picture of that old bank building. That’s Mitchellville, isn’t it? Close to the Kentucky line? Love those little old towns!

January 27th, 2007 at 8:59 pm
I see a lot of buildings like this in Florida (where I’m planning to move)…neat, old weathery buildings. I used to work in a bank, but nothing as small as this.
Great shot!
Mine’s up.
Cheers.
January 28th, 2007 at 1:31 am
This one is really unique. It reminds me of shops that I see on cowboy movies. It is amazing that it still stands todate. Is it operational still?
I really am sorry I wasn’t able to join the Photo hunters. I was at a loss when I was going to post and all of a sudden I couldn’t open my own blogger as I was switched to the new blogger buzz and not the blogger beta. They said blogger beta is already dead and this is the new one. So anyway, no Photo Hunter today but have something special for everyone. It is better than silver or gold. Please do visit if you have the time.
January 28th, 2007 at 2:45 am
The Wild West, eh? Mine’s up too.
January 28th, 2007 at 7:49 am
That’s a great looking bank!
January 28th, 2007 at 11:29 am
Great photograph! I love those old buildings. Sorry for not being around. My father-in-law slipped on the ice a while back and broke his hip. He’s 89, so it’s been rough - a lot of time at the hospital.
Thank you for sharing this lovely picture!
January 28th, 2007 at 7:20 pm
Nice photo! I love historic buildings.
January 28th, 2007 at 8:20 pm

Sorry I’m commenting late, lord knows I posted early ROFLMAO!
January 29th, 2007 at 10:27 am
Hi! Sorry for visiting quite late.
Nice entry. It’s amazing how a small and old bank like this still operates. I noticed a sign that says Gun Shop. Hmmm… that’s extraordinary.
