What’s going on?

For those who viewed my photo post on Wednesday – that is my new kitty, Nixie Blue. She’s a himalayan just like Punkin but a blue cream point instead of seal point. Her tail is about 3x larger (fatter) than Punky’s. She weighs a mere 6.6lbs (the exact same weight as Punky!). She just turned 31 weeks old on Thursday. She loves people and is very sweet and friendly. She’s spunky, too. She’s adjusting very well to her new home and didn’t get car sick on the way here (long ride, too – from Northern KY).

Nixie never been around a dog before so she’s slowing adjusting to our dog. Zoey is an outdoor dog who belongs outside but it’s cold so she’s inside for the Winter. Zoe is great with cats. She and Punky never fought or bothered each other. Thankfully, she’s being nice with the new kitty, too – but the new kitty isn’t so sure about the dog.

I still miss Punky, a lot… always will. I talk about her so much… but the empty void feeling is no longer present in the house and I don’t hear my kids repeating “When are we going to get a new cat, Mom?”

Nothing much going on here today – just snackin’ on some Sun Chips while I type this. The only things on my agenda today: Go to the feed mill to pick up some horse feed, visit with/feed Cosmo, and drop off my husbands car (for new tires). I do have a lot of new folks to add to the Photo Hunt blog roll – so I’ll do that tonight. We have a basketball game Saturday morning and I need to make an income tax budget sheet this weekend. We filed our taxes already and need to make a budget sheet to allot money where it needs to go. I am taking a little of it to buy a new saddle. Some is alloted to savings, some on the dentist… and some for hubby’s car. I need to make sure I keep up with what goes where so I don’t end up with none saved!

Nothing exiciting to report! So, any plans for the weekend?

    I love Nixie….she is beautiful! I want a puppy…still working on hubby!

We have a normal weekend ahead of us (at least for us anyway – LOL). I want to go to a local rodeo to see some friends run their barrel horses. I’d love to ride sometime this weekend…probably won’t happen. One daughter has a birthday party to go to on Saturday at Chuck E. Cheese – it hurts to even type that!!! LOL! Hubby will be fishing in a tournament on Saturday…and my crew better all find ourselves in church on Sunday, we’ve played hookie a few weeks.

    Have a great weekend!

LOL – I need to get on my photos more. As in presentation form. But we might be going to a presentation for traveling… Oh gee, does that sound like me? I just love the low cost stuff so I can get ideas in my head…

We have a cat and dog here and the cat now totally runs the dog and it only took him about 3 or 4 days to be a bit more sure of himself, especially since kitty was 8 wks and sweet little twist was 3 years and 20 lbs heavier! Just give it time!

Oh, wow, such a beautiful cat!
I lost my beloved dog last march and took a new one a month later – and I’m SO happy I did! The new one of course does not replace the old friend, no way, never – it just brings a new kind of “filling” into the empty space. And that in itself is a consolation and relief :)

Plans? No plans but photohunt. My post is up, since it’s already Saturday in this corner of the world :D

Your new kitty Nixie is lovely! I’m so glad that you have a new cat to love and help you deal with your loss of Punkin’.

Yikes about cutie-patooty’s tooth! At least it’s her ‘baby’ tooth! ;)

Well I’ve already got my SPH up (http://icl-is-at-home.blogspot.com/2007/01/saturday-photo-hunt-wild.html) because I’m heading off in the morning to my friend’s cottage for our 3rd annual girls weekend at the cottage. We have to ski in to the cottage (only about 1 km) as the road is not maintained, although I might chance it this year with my 4 wheel drive as we’ve only had one snow dump last Monday that has not melted yet this winter. Otherwise if we ski in we have to put all of our provisions on toboggans and ski in pulling them. Not bad, but I’m nursing some muscle boo-boos so I if I can avoid the mandatory ski, I may do so. Just go for the fun stuff! :)

    Happy Weekend~!

I love your Nixie. We had to get rid of our cat, Wally, because he started peeing on the furniture!!! We also have a Bassett/Beagle mix named Naomi. No horses but we see plenty around us.

My Photo Hunt photo is also up.

    Have a great weekend!

Nixie is beautiful :) and I am sure she will get used to Zoey…

Nothing going around here either. It suppose to rain all weekend long – so cuddling up with hubby and eating hot soup sounds splendid to me right now…

    Hiya!

Nixie is just adorable. It’s always nice to fill a gap and have that longing feeling lifted, even if it is just a little.

I meant to ask you before, can you ride your horse, is he broken?
He’s lovely anyway, makes me wanna go and buy one again.

hehe, you know, I can feel that blog urge coming back, I’m sure it won’t be long before I take it up again!

    Take care,
    Mandy
