Oh my gosh!

Yesterday, my daughter was playing with a funnel. I had already taken it from her and told her not to put it in her mouth… but she gets it (again) and plays it like a flute or something. Sigh… As soon as I told her to take it out of her mouth (again) she hit the wall (by accident, of course) and nearly knocks her top tooth out. OMGosh. Yikes, I seriously almost fainted. So much blood… at first site, the tooth looked GONE but it was just pushed way back. My husband set the tooth back in place as the dentist recommend (via phone, we called him at home on his cell!!). The dentist said it should be OK just watch to see if it turns black. SO far 24 hours and not black, whew!! Her gum looks nasty though (bruised). I’m ever so thankful she didn’t loose the tooth and I pray she won’t and it heals properly. I am going to see if the dentist will see her tomorrow to check on it (he was closed Sunday and today and said it wouldn’t be an emergency). I’m so freaked out over it, anyway… I cant help it. So, cross your fingers he can slide us in for a quick appointment tomorrow to check on it! I have never had something so traumatic happen with my kids. Wow.

I know that it is tramatic for you, but I was just reading a friends blog and her sister lost her baby last friday. It should have been born today but it died last friday….that kind of puts things into perspective….Give your daughter a hug for me.

Wow - glad the tooth is still there. What a scare! One day they will know - Mom knows best! LOL!

When I was little, I knocked my younger brothers front tooth out with a bat. I still hear about that one to this day! My daughter also bruised hers about 3 yrs ago and then it cleared up.

    Have a great day!

You know - any injuries around the mouth always look worse than they really are. I do hope that the tooth will grow in straight though. I remember out son hitting his tooth when he was two on the bed (because he was jumping up and down). The tooth was crooked, but when the real tooth came in - all was okay…Keep us up-dated.

Oh dear. I would have fained too!! Wow, darn kids. These things happen though. Hopefully she’ll stop putting stuff in her mom, I’ve always worried about stuff like this. Once my youngest girl got a hoop hearing stuff in her cheek, like a fish hook.

Then a few months ago my oldest now 14 gagged herself with a straw when she was walking around with it in her mouth and TRIPPED. YIKES.

I wish I can say it gets better as they get older, but from around 12 to 18 they have very little grey matter. lol

oh no!! Poor Miss A! ((huge hugs))
it must be the week of almost knocking out 4 yr olds teeth!
my friend’s 4 yr old knocked over a barstool on top of her - and it almost knocked her teeth out yesterday!! it’s just black & blue now - but scared Mom to death! Ugh!

keeping my fingers crossed that she’s just fine & that the dentist can get you in, just in case!

My son fell and hit his tooth about that age and loosened it pretty seriously. It turned a grim shade of gray. We scheduled an appointment to have it capped a month later, and it magically returned to its normal whitish-color. Either way, thank goodness with your daughter it’s a baby tooth!
