Photo of the week goes to Me (Aww Thanks ya’ll) and Expat Travels. Coming in with a late vote ties Guppyman for a winner, too!
This was my son and his friend at the San Diego zoo.
We are now 100 sites strong. Please help me, while visiting the blogroll, by letting me know of sites that aren’t playing. I was doin’ a good job but since life took a step toward the busy side, I could use your help. I’ll look into how long since they’ve played, etc. I haven’t had time to filter thru the roll in several weeks.
Secondly, I’ve noticed many of you don’t have the blogroll on your site. Please, add it. It does not have to be on the sidebar. I know of a couple blog hosts that don’t allow scripts (you are excused) but most do…. it’s only fair to add this blogroll if you are on it. The blogroll has grown (WOW) and I want to do my best to keep it running smoothly.
Last, While visiting, remember your fave photo each week, and if you have time, let me know which one(s). If not, no worries.
Edit: Since people are emailing me about the blogroll - let me clear that up.
First off, it is not really a requirement but many people don’t even post the links that are required- which is kind of unfair to me and my time. I put in my post today that it was required because of the amount of people joining and not playing or linking. I will not remove an active player for no blogroll.
The purpose to be on the blogroll is so other players will know who to visit. I do think it’s fair to show the blogroll IF you are on it as someone can play each week and not be on the blogroll. For me, I have to add/delete people on a regular basis and I find it little effort for you.
I would never be strict over something so minor - I try to be a good host and keep things going smoothly for all. I don’t require links in every posts.
YES you can HIDE blogrolls on blogger, even if you think you can’t. It is possible. I’ve done it for myself and others. If you’d like to know how to do that - the directions are below.
Go into your dashboard and make a new post (post like you would if you were blogging an entry). In that post, insert the script shown for the blogroll. Publish. IGNORE errors when you publish it - because blogger will give you an error.
Next, grab the link to that page (go into your blog, find that post, go to the specific page - grab the permalink and copy that URL of the permalink).
Take that URL and put it in your sidebar link this: [a href=”LINK”]PhotoHunt[/a]
Insert your permalink where I have LINK. If you copy the line of code here, change the [ ]’s to <>’s and retype the quotes around the link because they will convert and screw everything up.
This will put the blogroll on a page and will not clutter up your sidebar to slow down loading time. Change the date so the blogroll isn’t on your main page. Open the post, at the bottom of the text box where it says > Post/comment options - click there, change the date if you don’t want it to be the first post (backdate it). Publish.
That’s it.

Boy he is really inquisitive! (the gorilla I mean) That’s an awesome shot! Best one so far but I haven’t been to see too many yet. I’ll put my vote in later.

Read it all, and I’ll keep my eyes open. I haven’t had that much time lately either to go through the list (and I always used to visit everyone)

Wow - 100 members. That is way cool. I still remember when there where just a few. Not sure if I can make it to 100 sites this weekend. Hubby and I are “Home Alone” - kiddo is in Mexico with friends . But I will try to hit as many as I can…
Have a wonderful Satuday.

That is a wonderful shot! I was lucky enough to track mountain gorillas in Rawanda, and ended up very close to them. They are so sweet and gentle (and smelly.)
Mine are up.

Wow what an aswesome photo!! YOu defenately have my vote for this week…it’s way better than mine anyday…lol.
I’ll get the blogroll posted on my site….I missed that where it was required. I thought they way I posted the link each week was ok, but will get it on there.
July 29th, 2006 at 4:34 am
Wow! Looks like King Kong. Good your son isn’t scared to see him that close. About players….at least this is fair enough. It’s just a waste of blogging time when you open someone’s site and that site isn’t playing.
Thanks for dropping by.

This is a brilliant choice for this week’s theme.
You have a very brave son. Others who have already ran away or would have stay but cried.
Have a nice day!
