Photo Hunt 12: Community

Theme: Community | Join the Photo Hunt | View Blogroll

New to the photo hunt blogroll this week: LazyDaisy, Kim, and Shna.

Instead of featuring a site to visit (since most visit the site, anyway) I’m doing “Photo of the Week” on the theme page. If you’d like to “vote” for a photo each week, comment here on which photo you liked best from all you visited. The photo with the most “votes” will be linked. If no votes commented, my personal choice will be linked. :)

ChurchWhen you live in a small community, as mine, there isn’t a lot to see other than farms, ‘n houses. We have a caution light, one store, and a couple small cafes to get a hot ‘home cooked’ meal. However, the photos I took of them didn’t show well in the dark. I drove around Friday night just for this. Ha. I opted to share my church. I took the black/white photo. The color ‘picture in picture’ is just to show the daytime look. I didn’t take it.

If you hunters have not noticed the July contest, check it out, it’s a photo hunt!

Reply from TNChick: It’s small compared to some but it isn’t that small - the part in the photo is just the sanctuary. There is a wing you can’t see in the photo, it’s two story (lookin at the photo, it’s off to the left). There is also another section (Fellowship Hall) that is detatched and two story.

Reply from TNChick: We have churches everywhere, here too. Every road had one, nearly ;) That is one thing my community doesn’t lack :)

I suspect we’ll see a lot of church shots this week, nothing wrong with that. I do like “classic” looking churches like this one. My own photos are probably predictable… ;-)

This one shows peace and serenity. Like the black and white picture. The church looks good with the lights.
My photo hunt is up too.

Wow, love the contrasts of the night shot in black and white. Sounds like my town is smaller than yours…if that’s possible. Have a great weekend.

I really like the black & white look & am happy to learn that someone else lives in such a small community. I’m not sure if there are any churches here. *s* Great choice for today’s theme!
