Another school year over….

My SonYesterday was the last day of school. I can’t believe it’s time for school to be out, already. I am glad I won’t be having to wake up early to put him on this bus, for a few months. I’m glad he doesn’t have to go to bed so early from now on, too. Anyway, we are so proud of our boy for his hard work all year long, in school! He was presented with:

  • Homework Club Award (for never missing his homework)
  • Art award - for his outstanding art work in class
  • Language Arts Award (100% on his grades, all year)
  • Super Speller Award (100% on all spelling tests, all year)
  • Community Junior Achievement Award
  • Math Achievement Award (again 100%, he made all A’s all year)
  • Excellent Handwriting Award (again, 100% all year)
  • “A” Honor Roll (for the whole year)
  • Perfect Attendance (for the 3rd year in a row)

We will be working on his behavior/attitude this summer, as we have all year. While he aced everything in school, he didn’t ace his behavior. It was noted each six weeks he needed to work on that. It’s always a work in progress with him. Anyway, I’m so thrilled for him (and proud) for his grades and achievements. What parent wouldn’t be?!

On another note, I really like these two country photos and thought I’d share. One is the cows in a pond and the other is a goose who was wanderin’ with the moo-moos. I took them a couple days ago.

Hard to be mad at a kid with grades like that. Being able to get outside and run around will probably do wonders for his attitude.

I can totally relate to star student/behavior problems issue because I was that way all throughout school. It had to drive my mom bonkers and I know it did the teachers.
