Photo Hunt 8: Open

This is growing in my front yard. I decided to share this for ‘Open’ because the flower recently opened up in full bloom. I took a photo to show it before it opens in full bloom (on flickr). There is also one of the plant as a whole (again, see sidebar). You may click to enlarge. I wish I had more of these growing around the house but I don’t know what it is called.

Wow! This is a very beautiful flower and nice color too. Very well taken. Was going to ask you what flower is this but I read you mentioned you don’t know what it’s called. It is very lovely.

Very lovely yes! I can understand why you want more of them. I think we call it “Farmers rose” here in Sweden if I try to translate it. It’s a kind of Peony that exist in many different variations. I let you know if I happen to find the exact definition

It’s gorgeous. It looks really familiar, I’m sure I’ve seen those somewhere up close, but I have no idea what it is. Maybe you coud take the picture to a nursery and someone there could tell you?

Oh wow! You were my first stop this morning and that is a pleasant site for my sleepy morning eyes! Gorgeous open flower! I tried to grow peonies many moons ago… sadly, I kill all plants…. and such was the fate of my peonies. I will enjoy yours instead!
