Two movies I want to see…
American Haunting and United 93.
I really look forward to watching American Haunting. It’s a horror based on a true story. I don’t hear any hype about it unlike the United 93 film. Perhaps because it’s and non-terror related (it’s Supernatural) and about something from hundreds of years ago vs. 5 years. To me, they are both movies that I think will be awesome and I want to see them.
Another reason I want to see American Haunting is because I’ve been to the location, walked through the Bell Witch’s cave, witnessed freaky things there, etc… I have the Bell family in my ancestry. I hope the movie isn’t disappointing - I don’t think it will be.
I won’t be watching United 93 to relive the terror and horror of September 11th. I know many will likely not want to watch it and that’s OK. The husband and I do - It’s said to be a real good film, one that shows great heroism. I just enjoy a great movie and want to watch it for that reason! Good films are always worth watching.
They make movies all the time in reflecting things that happen in the real world. I don’t watch them to see the world reflected- I watch them to watch a good film. I look forward to them. Speaking of watching movies, I’m watching Hostel and Love Actually this week. I am due a movie opinion post, soon.
What about you? Do you plan to watch American Haunting or United 93? I think both of them will be huge hits. I’m not wanting to debate the movie(s) but feel freel to share your opinions if you’d like.
*Edit - I will not be going to the theather to watch these flix. The drive-in, maybe (if American Haunting is shown there), but likely will wait for them on DVD. Most comments mentioned theaters - so just so you know, I didn’t mean theater.

I’d like to see United 93 although I’m afraid of the memories of that terrible day. I think it might be nice to see a different perspective from that day, if that makes any sense.

I’d like to see both movies. American Haunting looks fantastic and United 93…I figure if the victim’s families could want this film to be made, I can see it.
Love Actually I liked very much; even tho Alan Rickman was …. well, never mind, you’ll see.

I want to see both, but I’ll have to wait for the DVDs. Of the two, I’d rather see American Haunting. I’ve heard and seen enough of 9/11 and I’d rather not have to revisit that day.
American Haunting and the entire story behind it fascinates me. It’s even more interesting since it happened here in TN.

I plan to see United 93. I don’t like horror movies so I doubt I’ll watch American Haunting. I really enjoyed Love Actually.
Have fun!

I’m not watching either for the reasons below:
1) We live nowhere near a cinema.
2) I doubt either of those two movies are being shown here just yet.
3) Can’t be bothered (if they were being shown) to drive the 80km.
4) It costs a fortune in popcorn and cola
lol

I usually wait until movies come out on pay-per-view. It is cheaper, I don’t have to put up with annoying people, and my brother makes better popcorn than any theater.
As far as the movies go … I doubt that I will pay to watch United 93 because there is enough about 9/11 on other channels. American Haunting sounds good because it is based on a true story. However, I’m a scaredy-cat so I’ll have to catch it during the daytime.

never heard of either. Not really my type of movies though. I am a chicken, and not really partial to american hero films (not that there is anything wrong with them.. i just am not in that kind of gal).

United 93 really looks good but I am not so sure if I want to see it or not. A lot of my friends do so I think I might end up going with them, but to be honest with you I haven’t been a movie person lately. I haven’t gone to the movies in forever. Its been so long that I haven’t even heard of American Haunting. How about that?

I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to watch United 93, in the theater or at home. It’s still too sad of an event for me. That said, my husband absolutely WILL watch it, probably in the theater. Sounds like it will be a good one. I couldn’t watch Blackhawk Down, either, actually know folks who had lived through the events. Too sad for me, knowing it really happened.
I’m very curious about the other movie you mentioned, may look into that one.

Gup and I are planning to go see flight 93… We were going to go on opening day but missed it. i would say probably the next weekend that we do not have lil one we will probably end up going to watch it.
I never heard of the other American Haunting or whatever it was….It sounds like a horror movie or something of the sort .. if that is the case , this girl will not be watching it ..lol

I’ll probably watch 93 on DVD, so I can cry and get all upset at home, instead of in front of complete strangers. Having lived through it here in DC, and remembering trying to find people we knew at the Pentagon, and hearing the fighter jets fly over when no other planes were flying - it was really emotional then, and still gives me goose bumps.
I don’t watch scary movies. They give me nightmares.
Yet my mom is amazed that I am a fan of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Vampires don’t scare me. Ghosts and knives do.

I’m planning on seeing An American Haunting this weekend in the theater. I can’t wait!
I think it’s so cool that you were in the Bell Witch cave!!!
Do you have any pictures? What happened to you there?
I’m fascinated by this kind of stuff. I grew up in a house where a lot of freaky stuff happened.
I watched Hostel about a week ago, and it really bothered me. Be sure to watch it with your hubby!

I don’t go to theaters either–you can’t smoke and some dumbass thinks he should call his other girlfriend soon as the lights go out. I love driveins tho.
I don’t plan to see either movie–but I want to see Clerks 2.

I hadn’t heard much about American Haunting since I now watch most things on the DVR and flip through commercials, but that does sound interesting. I still can’t decide if I can watch United 93. I agree with the heroism part, but I might be more sad than I can stand, if that makes sense. I have yet to be able to watch Hotel Rwanda or The Passion of the Christ.
