Makes me happy- Part 5

Psst, there is a new poll on my sidebar - feel free to cast your vote.

  • 31. Dad telling me he’s proud of me and mine.
  • 32. Hearing rain on a tin roof.
  • 33. Seeing my high school boyfriend (now my husband) every day.
  • 34. Lemon Cream Pie.
  • 35. Mad About You.
  • 36. Iris’ DaySpring Cards.
  • 37. Commenter’s here on my site.
  • 38. Finding old memories (pix,papers).
  • 39. Sunshine.
  • 40. Hummingbirds.
  • 41. Late night rendezvous.
  • 42. My cat purring.
  • 43. When my dog follows commands.
  • 44. When I get to reply “No, he does it because he wants to.” when someone says “You got him trained well…”. Actually this was said to me over the weekend about my husband. It kinda bugs me people stereotype him based on a typical guys behavior.
  • 45. When my hubby sits with me or does things with me at gatherings while the other men sit in the house and watch TV or talk - they seperate themselves from everyone. I’m so thankful he’s interested enough to be with me. Also, in his family, they separate men and women when they eat at family gathering… but he doesn’t sit with them - we sit together to eat. Aww.
  • 46. Homegrown tomatoes. Got some ready to plant, just gotta do it!
  • 47. Picking my own homegrown strawberries
  • 48. Finding something I really want, at a great price without inflated shipping, on eBay.
  • 49. A clean house.
  • 50. Dogwood Trees in bloom.

My list is half complete!

Continuing 43 Things list: 100 things that make me happy.
Makes me happy… Part 1,
Makes me happy… Part 2,
Makes me happy… Part 3,
Makes me happy… Part 4

Awesome list. They really sit seperatly at family gatherings? It is not that I don’t believe YOU - I just can’t believe that this is done - Yikes. It is awesome that your hubby sits with you .

Replied: Yes, but it seems to not be as bad as it was… but still happens. I think maybe because he has 3 sisters and they all 3 wanna sit together with their mom. His sisters are all older. He’s 32 and his sisters are 40, 46 and 52 (estimated ages). Also, most of his sisters children are girls, too. I’m the only female married into the family… the others are all guys. So, I feel out of place as they don’t speak to me much… so he always sits with me and not with the guys. We usually sit with our kids. His family age gaps are a bit out there… his parents had great grandkids before we ever had our kids (their grandkids). So maybe it’s an age/generation thing?

This dining/seating arrangement makes perfect sense, after your responding description. As I am understanding it, you two make a perfect team.

You both are very lucky to have found each other. Best wishes-

I grew up sleeping under a tin roof. There is no sound in the world like it and I miss it dearly. We are going to reroof the house we live in now and are going to go with metal.
Whats an Iris’ Day Spring Card?

I go with my wife to her “girl things” a lot but we have an understanding that when estrogen poisoning sets in, I’m gonna leave. She appreciates that I put in the effort and even try to be entertaining.

I walked up to her at church while she was talking to a pregnant lady. As I walked up, I heard something about an incompetent cervix or something like that. I turned on my heel and headed in the opposite direction. She understood and didn’t say anything about it. I think she might have laughed at me. She does that a lot.

    I like that about her.

I love my cats purring too, unless it’s at 3.00am and it’s right next to my ear! One of our cats has a habit of snuggling into my neck and hair to go to sleep and she claws at me just before she nods off.. well her purr is enough to wake the dead lol

I think it is hard to explain how great a great husband is too people when it is more typical to have an okay husband and THINK he is great.

Mark is very wonderful that way. He is my best friend, and he treats me as such. So it’s good. And I know you get that, since you have the same thing.

But, having said tha.. it is still really great that you sing his prazes.. because lets face it, you are a lucky woman TNC!! And good for Mr.TNC, he knows how to treat a great wife!

And cats purring, well, there’s just no other sound like it! :)

I agree with you on 44- my husband is a pretty good guy, too- I hate that ‘trained’ comment. I’d love some good tomatoes, too, but it will be awhile yet around here!
