Flix Reviews: My T’s and O’s
My thoughts and opinions on recently watched movies.
Pickin’ up where I left off…
A Room with A View, 1986 - an old film. I am not sure why I thought this would be good or why I’d be interested in it. I totally didn’t like this movie. It was just not my “style”, too boring… but if you wanna see some nekkid dudes there are some in this flick. Muahaha. I understand the low rating now.
Must Love Dogs, 2005 - I gave this movie 3 stars. It isn’t a top notch flick. I don’t think it was a bad film but I do think it could have been better. Typical romantic comedy that is predictable. You’ve got Mail is a better choice for an Internet dating movie.
Red Eye, 2005 - I gave this one 3 stars, too. I really liked it as there was some great action scenes. It wasn’t much of a thriller to me - more action - likely because it takes a lot of thrill to thrill me (ha). It was worth renting.
The Five People You Meet in Heaven, 2004. I gave this one 5 stars. I thought it was really good. I was interested throughout the film and thought the story line was great. The question that he was asking all along to his 5 people was one that I already predicted the answer to. I have not read the book so I can’t compare it.
Saw, 2004 - I hadn’t watched this yet (’til now) and I have Saw 2 sittin’ on the TV so I had to watch this one first. I’d give this 4 stars. I thought it was a great horror film. It was pretty gross but I guess that is why it’s good. I was surprised about the “dead guy” in the room… this movie has some twist and interesting story line. Now, I am lookin’ forward to part 2 and will likely watch it tonight.
The next few in line are, as mentioned, Saw 2 and Just Like Heaven (both sittin’ on the TV), Sky High and Walk The Line. If you know of any good flix that recently came out or even a really good one from the past year or so - let me know. My queue is getting low.

I really enjoyed “Walk the Line” - we watched it last weekend. But then again, I like the music of Johnny Cash anyway .
I personally enjoyed ‘Kingdom of Heaven’ (2005) and ‘King Arthur’ (2004), but then again, I like ‘history’ stuff. But both movies where very well made and interesting until the end - but who knows how accurate they are to real history events .

Wife just watched Elizabethtown and I caught tail end of it, but she says it was a good movie.
We have Yours Mine & Ours and History of Violence to watch.

Saw and Saw 2 were great movies. I actually just purchased Saw 2 on DVD today and plan on watching it within the next week.

I saw Just Like Heaven last week, it was really cute. Walk the Line was awesome. I saw it just last night. I think you’ve already seen everything else I’ve seen lately.

I didn’t like Elizabethtown… was very slow to me. But We rented STONE COLD, which I did like, and WALK THE LINE, also good, and tonight we’ll finish off JARHEAD. It seems as though we get more movie duds than great ones we like and would recommend…. oh– have you seen DIARY OF A MAD BLACK WOMAN? That’s great!

I haven’t seen any of these movies. I only see G rated now. I really ought to expand my horizons.

When I ever get some time, I want to see Hotel Rwanda, Syriana, Munich, Good Night and Good Luck, and V for Vendetta. Brokeback Mountain is a maybe. You can see I’m into some heavy stuff.

From this list, I’ve only seen one…Red Eye. It was okay. Looks like I have a lot of movies to see.

I really liked Sky High. I’m so glad my son is moving out of Disney and into more “real” movies we can watch together. I loved Walk The Line, too. They were both so believable! Popped over from Michele’s, nice to meetcha.

It may be from 2004, but I can highly recommand the Greatest Superhero Movie Ever ™: Zebraman. It was the last movie I saw that was truly worth seeing in the cinema.
It’s in Japanese, though, but that shouldn’t be a problem, should it?

Since you’re talking oldies here, let’s go way, way back.
If you ver get a chance to see “Harvey” with James Stewart, don’t pass it up. That’s a classic. Even the kids would love it.

We were pretty equal on all of your reviews. I actually really like period pieces, but was quite bored with Room With a View. With Five People, it’s a pretty close adaptation to the book, which wasn’t that long to begin with. I thought it was a touching story. I really liked Walk the Line and was disappointed it wasn’t one of the Best Pic noms, and I thought Just Like Heaven was pretty cute.

I would love your netflix username so that we can be “friends”.
Thanks for the review. Now if I could ever get my dvd player hooked up the directv I could watch some of these movies.

derailed comes out tomorrow, give that one a go.
i’ve seen room with a view a couple of times, you have to be in a right frame of mind to watch it, i like it, but not all the time. i haven’t seen any of those other ones, i’m afraid to watch saw cuz it’s suppose to be really gory, but one of my friends told me to give it a try cuz it’s got a good story, so i might yet.
