‘Cause my cup has overflowed.

I have not been up to much of as late… typical weekend. I listed one of my vehicles up for sale. I usually drive the truck and the husband usually drives the car to work - so we thought we’d attempt to get rid of the third one (it’s an Explorer). The only reason I hate to is because it’s paid for (2 of our 3 are paid for)… but we decided to do it, if it goes, it goes. We can always get something else later, if we wish. For those who’ve been readin’ a while it’s the one we put a new transmission in.

UPDATE: I came back to add today was report card day… I didn’t know ’till my son just walked in. He made All A’s again! Woot. That’s four 6 weeks in a row, only 2 more six weeks left of the school year. Now, if only his behavior would improve. Someone said we aren’t perfect, that is so true! I’m so proud of him.

I don’t really have anything on my mind today so I’ll leave you with this:

I’ve never made a fortune, and it’s probably too late now.But I don’t worry about that much, I’m happy anyhow and as I go along life’s way, I’m reaping better than I sowed. I’m drinking from my saucer, ‘Cause my cup has overflowed.

Haven’t got a lot of riches, and sometimes the going’s tough but I’ve got loving ones all around me, and that makes me rich enough. I thank God for his blessings, and the mercies He’s bestowed. I’m drinking from my saucer, ‘Cause my cup has overflowed.

I remember times when things went wrong, My faith wore somewhat thin. But all at once the dark clouds broke, and the sun peeped through again. So Lord, help me not to gripe, about the tough rows I have hoed. I’m drinking from my saucer,’Cause my cup has overflowed.

If God gives me strength and courage, When the way grows steep and rough. I’ll not ask for other blessings, I’m already blessed enough. And may I never be too busy, to help others bear their loads. Then I’ll keep drinking from my saucer,’Cause my cup has overflowed.

I have no idea who wrote this but I liked it and wanted to share. Don’t forget about the St. Patrick’s Day Contest!

Great words. And I’m sooo proud of him for getting such good grades. At least he doesn’t have bad behavior & bad grades. I think it’s a phase w/ the behavior. I think he’s a great kid too btw :)

Replied: Yeah, bad behavior AND bad grades would be horrible. I’m very thankful he’s bright - I hope he outgrows the issues he is having.

how does your school year go, you counting it off in sixes?

Replied: There are six 6 week periods. Meaning report cards come home 6 times a year, every size weeks. We start school in mid-late August and school is out mid-May. The summer break (no school at all) is the remaining of May, June, July and the first part of August.
