Those darn spots!
Howdy folks. I’ve been busy… and have dealt with a sick child all last week and the other one is sick, tonight. That, in addition to myself going to the doctor and takin’ one of the kids in for routine dental (no cavities but she had an abscess so going back tomorrow to pull the tooth *sigh*).
I had this on my mind tonight to share with you all, before I forget. It’s about a new product I got to test out and use! =)
If you’re house is like mine – random spots show up in the carpet. I never know how or what. Was it the dog? the kids being messy? sick kids? the husband? I do know that I have a hard time finding products that work and work good. I was using Resolve and it was workin’ OK but it didn’t get everything… and that irked me.
The folks over at Mom Central contacted me askin’ if I wanted to try the new product by WD-40. It’s Spot Shot instant carpet stain remover. I never expected a carpet cleaner from WD-40 but I did know that WD-40 was an awesome product that I keep in my house… so I jumped on the chance to try it out.
They sent me the Spot Shot which came with a test kit (a square of carpet, some stuff to stain the carpet with, a cloth, etc…) However, I knew my real stains needed to be removed so why waste time with making new ones to test! LOL I was able to remove some old dark black-ish stains that I didn’t know what it was…. and even a blood stain! Eww. It didn’t leave my carpet lookin’ yucky afterwards, either… and the carpet wasn’t hard. It was still soft! =)
I’m impressed with the stain cleaner. It works and it works good! It removed some of the stains that the other cleaner did not, stains that have been there a while (since the last shampooing!). Hats off to WD-40. They have a new customer (me!!) who will buy the Spot Shot! It’s safe around kids and pets and it offers a money-back guarantee, as well. I’d recommend you trying it if you’re lookin’ for a product that will remove those pesky stains! I wouldn’t be sharing this with you all if it didn’t work… I’m just glad it does… now, if only I could run across a spot remover that really works for my laundry!!!

i don’t think we have that here, i’ve got hardwood floors with a couple of area carpets so i don’t have to worry about spots. i use that tide pen for the laundry, an application on the spot about 30 minutes before i wash seems to do the trick.

SpotShot is my all-time absolute favorite carpet stain remover. Ever.
I only wish Costco would carry it year-round. They say it’s a “seasonal” item (since when do kids only spill things on the carpet during spring?), so I load up on it once a year.
Can’t say enough good about SpotShot!

Oh, I forgot to mention that my favorite laundry helper is the Spray n Wash stain stick. Lovely item, it is… It can even get out the worst grass stains my soccer player goalie can put in to white shorts.

Hmmmm…I might have to give this a try. With a 5 year old, 3 year old, newborn, a dog, and a messy husband my poor carpets could use some help! Thanks for the great review.

I’ll have to look the next time I go to Wal.Mart & see if they have this! I have a few spots on my carpet as well that need extra attention but other cleaners haven’t been able to lift. I’ll definitely give it a try if I can find it
Thanks for the heads up

Oh I LOVE that stuff! Works great…especially when you drop a full bowl of chocolate pudding on the beige carpet.
