Downtime.
My apologies if you were here while the site was down. I had to upgrade my WordPress (again!) while I had the time and I wanted to get it done before the weekend. While I was at it, I changed themes. I am SO lookin’ forward to Spring.
I was wonderin’, for the PhotoHunt, would you prefer paged or non-paged comments? Currently, all comments will appear on the same page. I haven’t got the paged-comments up yet as I haven’t styled the CSS for it. If you have a preference - let me know.
Paged Comments: Quicker load time and must view pages to view other comments. Non-Paged Comments: Comments all in one location, one page but slower load time.

I know the benefits of paged comments, but I find myself clicking “VIEW ALL COMMENTS” all the time, so yeah, I voted for non-paged comments

Your new site looks great. I like the paged comments myself, as I try to visit as many as I can and it makes it easier for my poor ancient brain! By the way, how on earth do you find time to run all this and visit everyone? I’m well impressed at the work you put in. Thanks.

I usually click on view all, but for those on dial-up or older computers I think it would be best to have paged.
That way, we could have it both ways. One for peeps with faster service and one for the ones that need more time to load.

Since it is virtually impossible to visit all Photohunters in one sitting, I like to choose a page at a time and visit all those on that page. The next time I come back I take another page. Without the pages, I don’t know if I would get to as many as I would be searching for the last place I left off. With the page view there is the option of viewing all pages, which gives us the choice of either on our end.
Of course, I have no idea of what extra work that may make for you in setting it up, so you have to factor that into the equation.

Is it hard to upgrade wordpress? I wanted to try it, but the instructions are very long and involved. I feel like I should go back to school and exchange my biochemistry degree for something computerish.

I agree with kathy s, I visit photo hunters by the page, it is easier to keep up with where you have been.

That’s a pretty theme. It looks cool and so peaceful. I have voted too. I chose paged comments. This is more organized and easy to comment depending on my time.

I do like the new theme as well. I prefer the non paged comments also.
