PhotoHunt 96: Heavy

PhotoHunters

Site of the Day: Zsolt (Narrow). Please, go comment.

First, thank you to those who’ve emailed or commented askin’ about me and mine after the horrible tornado outbreak we had this past Tuesday. Thankfully, I am fine, my family is fine, and we didn’t have any damages. The tornadoes skipped over my tiny community but hit nearby communities (a couple of them, actually) where we have friends. My mom’s friend lost her life. The lady’s home was demolished and her husband is in the hospital. Her burial is today. Also, my Aunt and Uncle lost a friend. Heartbreaking. Please keep the victims, of Tuesday’s storm, in your thoughts and prayers. Thanks!

Second, I’m auto-posting at TWO (2:00AM) instead of FIVE (5:00AM). Perhaps this will cut down on complaints. Also, remember this was started by me so my time zone is in effect not elsewhere. Thanks!

Third, here is my take on the theme. A very heavy load of hay bails. =) Have a great Saturday.

  12. 12. Comment by Alice (22 comments.):

I thought about using round bales too, but changed my mind. Your load of them would be much heavier than my shots of them in the field, so it’s a good thing, hahaha.

So what did I choose? Guess you’ll have to come see for yourself. :o)

  18. 18. Comment by Aileni Noyle (20 comments.):

    Hay ! That’s HEAVY.
Actually, hay is surprisingly heavy as you learn if you have to carry it any distance. The kind of bales on that truck are intimidating if you are stuck behind them and they aren’t very secure.

*cringe* Tornados. We had a bout of them come through last month - we had 98 warnings and the tornado sirens went off for a solid THREE HOURS. It was a nightmare. We had them causing havoc all around us, a few outlining towns got hit pretty hard. So I KNOW what you went through.

I’m so sorry to hear about the loss of life. For all our technology, we just can’t predict those things and I think that’s probably the scariest part.

I’ve followed one too many of those hay trailers. It always amazes me that they don’t fall off.

And 2:00 a.m. sounds great - ANY TIME sounds great, as you said, your meme, your rules. People will just have to deal, sheesh.
