Happy New Year!
Wow, another year passes! On January 4th - it’ll be the one year anniversary since I lost my beloved Punky. On January 5th, my sweetheart celebrates his birthday. A few other anniversaries as well - such as my daughter knocked her tooth out (wow, can’t believe it’s been a year!) and Nixie came to live with us a year ago, too. Not much else happen a year ago - but the above was plenty. It was a hard month after loosin’ my sweet Punkin - I tell you… I miss her SO much.
Anyway - Happy New Year. I hope that 2008 is prosperous for you and joyful. I am sure you will find many blessings in store. If you’re gettin’ plastered - be safe and don’t drink and drive.

It has been the new year here in Paris for an hour and a half now. Happy New Year!!
I do not make resolutions (I would never keep them), do not shoot fireworks but we do stand out on a balcony and bang some pots, do not party anymore (been there, done that!), always stay up until midnight, definitely kiss at midnight, and miss watching the ball drop since being here in France (been there to see it once in person)!

No, though our neighbors often do if it isn’t too frozen.

We are the safe, alcohol free place that our younger brothers visit because our parents are out.

Usually?

If my husband is awake and not midgame.
Do you watch the ball drop on TV?
Nope–no tv.

Do you make/have New Year resolutions? Nope, because I know myself well enough to know that I’d break them anyway.
Do you shoot fireworks on New Years? Yes, always!!
Do you party (or attend one)? We party on New Year’s Eve, but not with alcohol. Just lots of food, games, firworks and visiting!
Do you stay up ’til Midnight? Yes, always have.
Do you kiss someone at midnight? Yep, I kiss him at midnight, and lots of other times too.
Do you watch the ball drop on TV? We used to, but now we’re usually busy watching the firworks.

Do you make/have New Year resolutions? Last year I resolved to eat more healthily, which I did, this year i aim to pay off a good chunk of my debt, which is kinda cheating as I have to pay my loan by direct debit each month, but I want to save some money up to pay it off sooner….
Do you shoot fireworks on New Years? No
Do you party (or attend one)? Last year we had a house party, but every other year i’ve gone to the pub, including this year, where I was actually working behind the bar.

Do you kiss someone at midnight? Only if i’m in a relationship at the time, so this year no

Do you make/have New Year resolutions? Not really. A year is too long to resolve for anything. I would frget them–well, I already forgot and There are still ten minutes till New YEar’s here.
Do you shoot fireworks on New Years? No–Ordinance against them except for the 4th of July.
Do you party (or attend one)? Not in a long time.
Do you stay up ’til Midnight? It’s always midnight somewhere. I am actually going to make it tonight.
Do you kiss someone at midnight? I think I will. It will wake him up to go to bed.
Do you watch the ball drop on TV? Yeah, if I am awake long enough. Actually, I watched it on the 11 o’clock news and will see it again in six minutes.

Wow - I certainly can not believe that you have lost Punkin already a year ago. I also remember you sharing your daughter loosing her tooth. Wow, 2007 sure was quick, wasn’t it?

I used to, but now I don’t. They always are broken.

The previous years, yes we did but this year we didn’t.

Do you shoot fireworks on New Years? No. I did as a kid but haven’t done so in decades. Besides, you have to drive all the way over in Alabama to get decent fireworks (Florida banned all exploding fireworks for “safety” — nice nanny state ideals) and with the price of gas, it just isn’t worth it.
Do you party (or attend one)? Never
Do you stay up ’til Midnight? I normally do but since I had been up since 5:30am new year’s eve day for work, I was tuckered out and went to bed well before midnight.
Do you kiss someone at midnight? Naw.
Do you watch the ball drop on TV? Not any more. It’s the same old same old each year and got boring way back when I was a teenager.
