Upgrading WP
Has anyone upgraded to the 2.3.1, yet? Surely I am not the only one who hasn’t. I must say this is the ONLY thing I do not like about using WP as my platform. They are *always* finding some issue and making new upgrades. They have had TWO within the past 73 days. Ugh. Pikers. Ok, not much of a rant – but anyway.
Off to find a snack. See ya’ll for the weekend PhotoHunt. Long, hmm – I always wonder what you folks will come up with. Ha.
Oh! –> This fella, Neil is giving away *his* Canon IXY Digital 1000 10 MP camera! His meaning his camera not a new one. I’m not willin’ to pay for a chance but hey – you get a free chance to win it if you tell others- so, I’m tellin’ ya! =)

I upgraded to WP 2.3.1 within a few days of the release, and didn’t have any issues with it.
Go ahead, TNChick

i upgraded.. at first I got a problem with my database, as it didn’t update my database to reflect to the new version. I did a manual sql merge instead but my categories are all missing already.
Well, maybe due to me adding and modifying the previous tables in my old one. Now it’s ok minus the categories that are missing

Nope – haven’t up-graded to the new version. Totally agree with you on WP always finding issues…Oh well, still like it better than any other platform
Hope you win the camera.
Have a wonderful day, my friend.

I’m still considering moving to WP. I’m worried about losing my content. Plus I’m an IT idiot. hehe….

I have upgraded about 4 so far with no trouble, two much older installs had major problems and I have to go back and upload them slowly through several versions and fix the themes. All in all I am happy with the new version. Love the tags.

I have one blog that I manually do and is still on 2.3 which I JUST upgraded from 1.5 lol
Another one is in one of those autostall thingies and it has 2.3.1 in it with no issues.

There’s nothing longer than the Nullarbor here in the Australian Outback. Have a great Photo Hunt, everyone ….

Having to keep upgrading made me switch to the free platform at http://wordpress.com/. I lost a little flexibility but not having to worry about things makes it worth while.

I’m still on 2.0.5!

Upgraded and it was no problem. You should install the Automatic Upgrade plugin. That’s what I use and it makes upgrading extremely easy.
(All upgrades should be implemented for security reasons, btw.)

Hey TNChick. I’m still using 1.5 and am still quite happy with it. (Though I sense I won’t have a choice pretty soon).
I loathe upgrading. Sure, there are security issues, but upgrading also slows load time down – way down. I’ve noticed a lot of these new plug-ins and “goodies” are indeed cool, but they seriously hinder blog load times down and I’m too impatient to wait around. I don’t want that to happen to my blog. I prefer the fast load time. (And I have a DSL connection, I can’t imagine what it’s like for folks with slower connections).
I’ll most likely load a fresh copy of WP and import my database in the new year, but I’m fighting these upgrades all the way simply because it complicates matters and slows things down. I like simplicity. *smile*
