Thankful For…

I thought I’d do Thankful Thursday this week while my hubby is readin’ over some union papers…

  • I am thankful for my health. Even tho I’ve had some “issues” this past year with my back and Bells… I’m still thankful that I’m healthy. I’m 98% over my Bells Palsy now, it’s been just over 4 weeks.
  • I am thankful for my husband and our closeness. We’ve always been close and it’s great that we can sit and talk about anything. This week we touched on “What if one of us dies”… tough subject but was on our mind with the passing of my cousin.
  • I am thankful for His strength, answered and unanswered prayers. Yes, even unanswered prayers are good because sometimes we may not see the big picture.
  • I am thankful for family. I was able to catch up with some distance family at the funeral service this past weekend.
  • I am thankful for information and technology.
  • I am thankful my daughter is happy about starting school.
  • I am thankful that my son set goals for himself to do better with his attitude.
  • I am thankful for my marriage - it’s solid. We will celebrate 14 years of marriage next week.
  • I am thankful my hubby has vacation coming up this month!
  • There’s plenty more than I am thankful for - but these things were on my mind. My husband is off tomorrow so I’ll be spending the day with him. Woot. Thanks for reading and if you’re here - why not share something you’re thankful for. =) Toodles.

Oh, my goodness - I just clicked on your kiddo’s pictures - your girls is getting big - and she is beautiful :) - Love the shades on your son. Cool that is working on his attitude.

You know, I sometimes think about “What if one of us dies…” and my Sweetheart and I talk about it …I know - hard subject, but with kids - you gotta think about that.

Thank you so much for joining in this week and sharing your thankfulness.

Have a great day with hubby :)

I am thankful for husband and family as well. I thought, as I read your comment about ‘unanswered’ prayers, that there aren’t really unanswered prayers–just not answers that we pray for. I think specifically of two people I know, each wanting to buy a specific house. Both prayers would seem to have been ‘unanswered’, but the answer was actually ‘no’. One lost a spouse, and she would have been in dire financial trouble had they gotten their house. The other…the house they so desired was totally destroyed by a tornado a couple of years later. No one was hurt because both owners who did buy the house were at work. However, had the couple I know gotten the house instead, the wife is a SAHW. She would most likely have been home at the time and most likely would have been killed. We just have to have faith that a ‘no’ is God’s best plan for us!

I am glad that your health is good and that you are mostly over the bells palsy. Your post made me think about what I’m grateful for and I’ll take a stab at listing those areas of gratitude below. I thought I’d mention that I arrived here less than a week ago via a PhotoHunters participant link. I am looking forward to participating for the first time on Saturday. What a great idea you had when you started PhotoHunters.

    In no particular order:

I am grateful that 2 years after a lymph node dissection for stage III melanoma, I am still N.E.D (no evidence of disease).

I am grateful that my daughter is healthy and doing well in grad school.

I am grateful that a simple vitamin D supplement has corrected balance issues that initially made me fear the melanoma had spread to my brain.

I am grateful for my family and friends.

I am grateful for my habitat garden.

I could go on and on and I’m so glad you got me thinking along these lines. Carver
