PhotoHunt 56: Childhood
Ok, I’m back with my post!

About | Theme: Childhood | Roll
Photo Hunter of the Day: Amber at A Photo a Day Go comment, Ok? Thanks!!
New folks from this week and last: Chen, Zsolt, ashleystravel, Zoe, PeppyLady, Mousey, SamiBear, Denise, Nancy, June, Jay, Phoenix, Alissa, Mel, Drew, Pet, Samantha, Arlene, ipanema, Gewels, Tiffane, Jimmie, Melissa, Ane, tortoiserocks, and MeezerGang. Please take time to visit and make ‘em feel the love!
First, childhood toys. I decided to share one photo of some of our “old” toys. These are GI Joe items and most of them are about 20 years old. Any collectors out there - interested? LOL
Next, me… I was a child of the late 70’s and 80’s… so this is me during that time. I’m thinkin’ this is about 1982 but not 100% sure at the moment.

Mine is up too.
May 4th, 2007 at 2:19 pm
Mine is up. This week I did an unusual take on the theme. It is a religious amulet which has been blessed by priests in Thailand. During my childhood, it went everywhere with me and was an important part of my upbringing.
May 4th, 2007 at 2:34 pm
After a longer pause, I’m back.
And I’m a quite early bird this time! =)
Please stop by my Childhood Memories if you like to!
Have a nice weekend!
Hugs,
Sonny

The winner is a picture of my parents and me taken on my Dad´s birthday in 1974.
Can´t wait to see yours
Happy hunting ya all!

Mine’s Up!
May 4th, 2007 at 8:05 pm
Ouch! You look like me when my back “cracked” 2001 (I was 42), but I was forced to lean forward almost 70 degrees plus to the side and go only with minimal steps if at all. Very big problems to move. Mine was a disk bulge on one disk and a hernia on another disk, plus degenerative ones. I’m still not well, but have been forced to learn to live with it. I’ve problem with muscles inflammations ever since too.
I hope you’re doing better since you’re much younger than me
(”Funny” thing is, my childhood photo relates to this… And I wrote that before coming over here…)

May 4th, 2007 at 8:15 pm
I can really sympathize with you on the whole back pain stuff. I went through hell and then some with mine two years ago before I finally had a lamenectomy (sp?) due to a severely pinched and twisted nerve root from two herniated disks. You have my utmost sympathy! Hang in there as best you can!
Got my picture up and I will be visiting everyone else tomorrow; early to bed tonight as I’ve got to be up for work way too early!
May 4th, 2007 at 8:23 pm
I hope you are feeling better.
My entry is online now. This was a fun theme … thank you ..

May 4th, 2007 at 10:51 pm
Glad you are doing better–still praying.
My brother was younger so we had all Starwars which went great with my Glamourgals.:)
We must be about the same age, or nearly. My elementary school pictures have the same “feel”.

I’ve not been around in awhile. Our baby is now 9 weeks old, so I think I can get back into the routine of joining this again - esp. if I can work the oodles of baby pics we are taking into it!

Oh, you are just a babe! I graduated from high school in 1970. My brother had some of those GI Joe items. At least I think so. I went to college when I was 17 and he was 8… so I really don’t know. I remember the first Barbies, Chatty Kathy, and the original hula hoop craze along with the first Silly Putty and the plastic and metal pull Slinky dog toy.
Mine is up too.

Now, where the hell is all my childhood toys? It’s all gone. Anyway, during my childhood, we play lots of pretend games like tea party, catching tadpole in the drain…. those stuff we did living in a small village.

I was child in the 70’s, 80’s too. That time in Hungary was very hard to get little figures like that…it was a dream to me to have some. Especially the star wars figures were popular but almost never available. Cute photo:)
May 5th, 2007 at 2:17 am
My brothers and I played with GI Joe’s when we were kids!

What do you mean, any collectors? You shoud hang on to them, they might be worth some money! (At least, that’s what I always tell my husband when I can’t part with something, lol).
1982?! You’re just a babe! I was a Sophomore in high school during that time period. You know, I remember those jacket vests, they were hot back then. So were leg warmers. Whoa, bring on the memories. lol
I’m glad you’re feeling a tad better, hang in there!
May 5th, 2007 at 7:34 am
My first Photohunt. Great theme to start out with.
Your 80’s photo is cute. I have a bunch with the similar fashion of the time, but your hair was much better than my modified “Dorothy Hamill” do. Thanks Mom!

May 5th, 2007 at 11:02 am
I wouldn’t dare put up a picture of me in my childhood, I don’t think a unibrow and braces were ever in fashion.
Mine is up.
May 5th, 2007 at 11:06 am
Hi! Hope you are feeling much better now.
Great toys! They reminded me of my younger brother who had a large collection of GI Joes. My mom gave them away to my cousins in the province when my brother got older. I wished she had kept them instead so that the toys could have been given to my son.
You were a lovely girl (and still are).
May 5th, 2007 at 11:09 am

Have a great weekend!

I played this week, too. It’s been a while for me…
May 5th, 2007 at 1:49 pm
Awesome GI Joe toys! I used to love those, but my Mama would never buy them for me…I had to resort to playing with them with a neighborhood boy down the street. And cute photo of you! I like that denim vest there…very groovy. :x)
