New folks from this week and last: Chen, Zsolt, ashleystravel, Zoe, PeppyLady, Mousey, SamiBear, Denise, Nancy, June, Jay, Phoenix, Alissa, Mel, Drew, Pet, Samantha, Arlene, ipanema, Gewels, Tiffane, Jimmie, Melissa, Ane, tortoiserocks, and MeezerGang. Please take time to visit and make ‘em feel the love!

First, childhood toys. I decided to share one photo of some of our “old” toys. These are GI Joe items and most of them are about 20 years old. Any collectors out there - interested? LOL

Vintage GI Joe

Next, me… I was a child of the late 70’s and 80’s… so this is me during that time. I’m thinkin’ this is about 1982 but not 100% sure at the moment.

Mine is up. This week I did an unusual take on the theme. It is a religious amulet which has been blessed by priests in Thailand. During my childhood, it went everywhere with me and was an important part of my upbringing.

My childhood-picture is posted. I had to decide which of my “absolutely 70s” picture to choose by drawing lots ;-)

The winner is a picture of my parents and me taken on my Dad´s birthday in 1974.

Can´t wait to see yours :-)

    Happy hunting ya all!

Ouch! You look like me when my back “cracked” 2001 (I was 42), but I was forced to lean forward almost 70 degrees plus to the side and go only with minimal steps if at all. Very big problems to move. Mine was a disk bulge on one disk and a hernia on another disk, plus degenerative ones. I’m still not well, but have been forced to learn to live with it. I’ve problem with muscles inflammations ever since too.

I hope you’re doing better since you’re much younger than me :-)

(”Funny” thing is, my childhood photo relates to this… And I wrote that before coming over here…)

  27. 28. Comment by Linda (31 comments.):

I can really sympathize with you on the whole back pain stuff. I went through hell and then some with mine two years ago before I finally had a lamenectomy (sp?) due to a severely pinched and twisted nerve root from two herniated disks. You have my utmost sympathy! Hang in there as best you can!

Got my picture up and I will be visiting everyone else tomorrow; early to bed tonight as I’ve got to be up for work way too early!

Oh, you are just a babe! I graduated from high school in 1970. My brother had some of those GI Joe items. At least I think so. I went to college when I was 17 and he was 8… so I really don’t know. I remember the first Barbies, Chatty Kathy, and the original hula hoop craze along with the first Silly Putty and the plastic and metal pull Slinky dog toy.

The hubby and I were both late getting photos up … well I had one on my gardening site for hours but I didn’t mark it as Photo hunter so people mistook the photo .. see that one at http://www.feverishthoughts.com/garden if you’d like.

I was more of an outdoorsy girl but yeah I had barbies and dolls .. no GI Joes for me. Although there were some really old army toys of my brothers hanging around when I was a kid … those were from the late 50
s and 60’s. I wonder whatever happened to those? Hmmm
