Story of a stone…
Woke up in major pain Saturday AM. I called my hubby at 7:30a, told him I thought I was dying. While it seems funny, it sure wasn’t at the time. I had pain meds from the dentist so I took a lortab and it did nothing for me. My mom said go to the doc ASAP so, we quickly went to the doc… he thinks I have a kidney stone(s). Pray for me?
I’ve drank like 7 bottles of water yesterday (about 3 liters) and am on my 2nd one for today… and no DP (wow)… he directed me to drink as much as possible. A beer a day is suppose to help, they say… I drank half of one last night - YUCK. I can’t stand beer (not sure how I ever drank it when I was younger, eww). I’m not in pain at the moment but it comes and goes. Never had anything like this before - don’t know a lot about it. Actually, I’ve never had anything wrong with me, really… I think he wants me to “pass” the stone… if it doesn’t pass he’ll do a scan on me and go from there. He wrote me a RX for some pain meds to get me thru this weekend. I have no idea what to expect.

Oh, girl, I hope you find relief soon. Those kidney stones are very painful…Some of my friends had them before. I do hope that the pain meds give you some relief.
Praying for you.

I feel for you!! There is nothing like that pain. I had huge kidney stones 2 years ago while I was 8-months pregnant. I woke up and got in the shower, and by the time I got out I was in so much pain I couldn’t stand up. I was sure I was dying. There was 1 stone stuck in my ureter that was causing all the pain. I had to have surgery the next day. I ended up having to have 2 more operations after my son was born. My urologist told me to quit drinking so much soda pop. I love Dr. Pepper!! I can’t remember if it was the caffeine or carbonation that helps cause kidney stones. Drink tons and tons of water!! It wont help the pain but it will help it to pass quicker. Good luck!!!

Been there… not fun at all. Drink drink drink drink as much as you can. They were going to try to remove mine, but I was able to pass it. Drink some more. The more fluids you get in you, the better chance you have of flushing it out of your system. Good luck
